From their base in Bruges, the MUG-Heli crew, a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), is on call for medical emergencies across West and East Flanders (Belgium) and Zeeland (The Netherlands). Within minutes, they are airborne, heading towards situations where speed, precision and clear focus make all the difference.
Behind every intervention is a team of pilots who need to perform without distraction, both in the air and on the ground. That is where SYNQ comes in.
Why SYNQ
No two days are the same. A call can come at any moment. Within seconds, pilots switch from standby to action. Equipment is gathered. The helicopter is prepared. Once on site, there is no time to lose.
Interventions often require more than flying the air ambulance alone. On the ground, pilots move with the team, carry equipment and adapt to rapidly changing situations. In that context, clothing needs to work with them, not against them.
This is where the switch from a traditional flight suit to a two-piece SYNQ outfit makes a real difference. Lighter and more flexible, the new setup reduces restriction and allows pilots to move naturally throughout the day.

About the outfit
For the MUG-Heli pilots, the outfit is built around flexibility and performance in the field.
The SYNQ® Sqill service trousers, with 4-way stretch inserts in strategic areas, provide the freedom of movement required both in the air and on the ground.
The SYNQ® Aqro polo shirt offers a lightweight and breathable base layer, bringing a noticeably fresher feel, particularly on warmer days, as Danny confirms. Combined with the SYNQ® Enqore midlayer and SYNQ® Stunter softshell jacket, pilots can easily adjust to changing weather conditions throughout the day.
You can wear the trousers with the polo, or combine the polo with the jacket. In summer or winter, you simply adapt by adding or removing layers.
Functionality remains essential. While the slightly reduced number of pockets compared to a flight suit required some adjustment, it also led to more conscious choices: keeping only what is needed close at hand, while other items remain in the helicopter.
The outfit is completed with custom reflective elements, including the SYNQ logo, the “IN SYNQ WORKS WELL” slogan and a helicopter graphic. A velcro patch allows pilots to clearly display their “PILOT” identification, while the reflective details enhance visibility when needed.
