It’s basic instinct, isn’t it? If you have the possibility (or should we say: luxury) to work with a pair of shorts, they are your perfect partner for hot days. Choose short work trousers with holster pockets if you like to have all your tools close at hand, or opt for a pair of scratch-free service work shorts. All SYNQ work shorts have a comfortable, mechanical stretch main fabric. Shorts with a Q in the name additionally have 4-way stretch Cordura® inserts for additional freedom of movement.

To work comfortably on hot days, short sleeves obviously matter. But other factors can’t be overlooked either: like the fabric composition and weight, whether is has an antibacterial finish to reduce bad odours and/or if the garment offers certified UV sun protection.

Did you know that a garment with an UPF 50+ (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) will allow only 1/50th of UV radiation to penetrate the fabric and reach the skin. In other words: it shields you against 98% of the sun's rays ?

Apart from a T-shirt and polo shirt with short sleeves, the SYNQ & SAFE collection also includes a long-sleeved safety T-shirt. It offers an UPF 50+ protection and is certified according to EN ISO 20471 high-vis class 2 (XS-L) and class 3 (XL-4XL). Moreover, its lightweight (160 g/m²), stretchy fabric is a clever combination of 50% recycled polyester with 50% Lyocell, a sustainable fibre that is highly breathable, lightweight, moisture wicking,… and feels great against the skin.

If you can’t wear shorts to obtain the required high-visibility class for your job, know that our safety knee pocket trousers have a built-in ventilation system for additional comfort when kneeling. Finally, the segmented, retroreflective tape does not just look great, but also adds to the flexibility and breathability of your work clothes.

When heat and rain go hand in hand, it’s always a good idea to have a rain jacket nearby. Look for jackets with a waterproof fabric and 100% taped seams to stay 100% protected against water from the outside. Always check if the fabric is also breathable, since that will allow sweat to get wicked away from your skin and will help prevent a clammy, damp feeling. Our SYNQ & SAFE stretch hardshell jacket, the SYNQ® Projeqtor, for instance, has a very low RET breathability value of only 4,9. Knowing that the closer to zero, the better, this really is a remarkable result for a jacket that also withstands a water column of almost 21 000 mm!
