SIOEN NV - General Competition Rules

Article 1: Introduction

These competition rules establish the general terms and conditions for participation in all competitions organized by SIOEN via its website, other online channels (such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter), or by any other means. If specific conditions apply to a particular competition, an additional specific competition regulation will be prepared for that competition. The provisions of a specific competition regulation take precedence over any conflicting provisions of these general competition rules. SIOEN NV, with its registered office at Fabriekstraat 23, 8850 Ardooie, RPR 0478.652.141. The SIOEN NV group includes various brands that are also covered by these competition rules:

  • SYNQ
  • SIOEN PPC
  • SIOEN FIRE
  • SIOEN BALLISTICS
  • SIP PROTECTION
  • BALENO
  • URSUIT
  • MULLION

Article 2: Who Can Participate?

In principle, anyone who is 18 years or older at the time of the competition can participate in a SIOEN competition. Minors may only participate in a competition if they have the explicit permission of one of their parents or guardians. If a minor participates in a competition, SIOEN assumes that he/she has obtained this permission. If the minor cannot provide this permission, he/she may be excluded from the competition at any time, or their right to a prize may be revoked. Each personal profile (on social media) can only participate once per competition. If multiple entries are detected, the first submission will be considered as the valid entry. Business pages, groups, or profiles that do not comply with the rules of the social media platform will be excluded. If it is found that a fake profile is behind a participation, this profile and the person behind it can be excluded from the competition or their right to a prize may be revoked. Anyone declared a winner of a competition without fully meeting all the participation conditions automatically loses their right to the prize, without any right to compensation and without any recourse.

Article 3: Competition Procedure

Participation in the competition is always free of charge. In the case of a competition involving creative input from the participant, such as a photo, drawing, text, or video, the organizers of the competition are granted the right to reproduce and use the submitted input in their own publications, brochures, catalogs, websites, etc., without any compensation being due and without any limitation in time and space. Participants are responsible for ensuring that no images are submitted that may infringe the copyright or other protected material of third parties. By participating, each participant declares, under penalty of exclusion, that they are the original creator of the submitted images. SIOEN will not be responsible for images that infringe the copyright of third parties. The submission must not contain any pornographic, indecent, discriminatory, extremist, or other illegal elements. SIOEN reserves the right to remove any submission that does not meet these requirements. SIOEN reserves the right to suspend the competition at any time due to force majeure, without any possibility of compensation for the participants or anyone else. If SIOEN is forced to postpone, shorten, or withdraw a competition, to amend the competition rules, or to adjust the competition format, SIOEN cannot be held liable in any way. SIOEN cannot be held responsible for interruptions or technical malfunctions of the competition due to the internet, network, software, etc., nor for technical problems and/or problems caused by third parties (such as delays, strikes, damage, etc.) that would make participation impossible.

Article 4: Winners

When participating in a competition with multiple prizes to be won, each winning participant is entitled to a maximum of one prize, unless explicitly stated otherwise. The jury consists of SIOEN employees. They will select the winners from the submissions and oversee the competition process. They make sovereign decisions and without possibility of appeal regarding disputes and cases not expressly provided for in these rules. Jury members and SIOEN employees are excluded from participation in this competition. The prize may not be exchanged or converted into cash in any way. SIOEN may decide at any time, for production or content reasons, to change a prize. If the prize is a gift voucher, its validity may be limited in time. If the winner, for any reason, cannot redeem the gift voucher before it expires, he/she cannot claim compensation or replacement. SIOEN cannot be held responsible or liable for any defect in the prize or if the prize does not meet the created expectations.

Article 5: Personal Data

The personal data of participants is processed by SIOEN NV. This data is subject to the law of July 30, 2018, regarding the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and all Belgian regulations implementing the GDPR. SIOEN’s policy regarding this personal data can be consulted on the website. By participating, participants agree that if they win a prize, their photo, name, and place of residence may appear on the website and other online channels (such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc.), as well as the website and online channels of any co-organizers, and in the print media.

Article 6: Rules

By participating in SIOEN competitions, the participant accepts these competition rules and all decisions that SIOEN may make in connection with the competition. If necessary, SIOEN may amend these general competition rules. These rules are published on the SIOEN website and can be printed if desired.

Article 7: Disputes

All disputes regarding the application of these rules must be sent in writing within 15 days after the end of the competition to info@SIOEN.com.
